Each year we’re proud to sponsor theTraditional Home Hampton Designer Showhousewhich benefits the Southampton Hospital. This year’s showhouse located in Bridgehampton was a fantastic success. Bakes &； Kropp shared with us their inspiration for the gorgeous pool house， which they furnished using Ballard Designs products!
Last week， we showed you the Master Bedroom of the 2014 Hampton Designer Showhouse， but this weekpillow cases solid， we’；re moving outside to the poolhouse!pillow cover home decor
The super talented team at Bakes &； Kropp designed a gorgeous space， all inspired by the zebra wood used for the kitchen cabinets. Finished in a soft gray， the gorgeous cabinetry madeour design-loving hearts go pitter patter! We loved the way the grain of the wood feels beachy (appropriate for a seaside poolhouse!) without being too kitschy.
From there，Mary from the Bakes &； Kropp team chose a gorgeous gray wall color (Purbeck Stone from Farrow &； Ball) to complement the cabinetry， and the rest of the furnishings in the adjoining living space evolved natural.
In the living space， Mary chose our Audrey Gray Fabric for the sofa， then mixed it with two woven Capri Chairsto create a relaxed but polished vibe that is as friendly for wet swimsuits as it is for aperitifs!
To further bridge the outdoors with the indoors (this is a pool house after all) Mary brought in tons of greenery in the form of a succulent planter on the coffee table， olive tree topiaries， and hanging planters just beyond the french doors.
And for that final flourish， she topped it off with a glittering Orb Chandelier! We love how calming this space is.Next time， we’；re bringing a book and kicking our feet up!
Thank you so much for Mary for sharing her design process with us and for using our products so elegantly in this space!

My musician friend Erin (of Mix Tape) celebrated the big 3-0 this weekend. I made her a little gift so she can coordinate outfit to instrument on stage. I like the fact that it’s functional (a guitar strap for her fancy-schmancy guitar) but also homemade (a cover made with a teensy bit of a gorgeous fabric she actually gave me for my birthday). This simple DIY works for camera straps, guitar straps, or any sort of strap. I think it would even work for a BELT! Think of it, you could have ONE belt with a bunch of covers to match all your cute outfits. How prudent.
This is a quick and simple sewing project for a special gift for Father’s Day. And this project pays tribute to the great Dad in your family by creating a tie with an image of his child or children on it.?Once you have found a picture the rest is easy. If you have not looked through those old family albums, the time spent doing so will be fun. The steps in this tutorial will show you how to process the picture you choose to print it on fabric, then fuse and appliqué?it to the tie.
